Every September historical down town of Nelson offers the perfect stage for the many vintage cars arriving from far and near.
Car collectors and lovers of old cars are enthusiastic about this event which takes place since 2003 and is organized by Nelson’s Road Kings. It attracts participants from BC but also from the US states Washington, Idaho and Montana and a rising number of visitors year by year.
During the whole week around the show Nelson’s road images take the spectators back into history times of the automobile. The usually sunny and stable Kootenay weather in September offers the last opportunity for many car owners to take their lovingly cared for beauties out on the road before winter.
Take a break in a s treet café
The event opens on Friday afternoon when the cars gather in front of Bogustown Pub.
Highlight is the “Show and Shine” on Saturday when all historical Baker street surrounded by its old houses and cozy street cafés becomes the perfect ambience for the cars. Proud owners are open to all the questions the spectators might have and like to show photos documenting the restoration process.
There are happy people everywhere and endless numbers of photos are being taken.

The event ends with an open air rooftop dance party at the Nelson Parkade – and
with the promise to be back next year.
