are well known as the best kept secret among BC’s vacation destinations. Although they match the Rocky Mountains in their natural beauty they are not yet discovered by tourism mainstreams.

with its unique pioneer and hippie flair is the cultural center of the West Kootenays.

Travel to here by car
From Vancouver take Hwy 3 east via Princeton, Osoyoos, Greenwood, Grandforks, Castlegar, then Hwy 6 north via Lemon Creek
From Calgary take Trans Canada Hwy 1 west via Lake Louise, Golden, Revelstoke, then Hwy 23 south. The ferry crosses Upper Arrow Lake from west to east every full hour and every half hour from east to west. From Nakusp take Hwy 6 via New Denver, Silverton, Slocan.
Travel to here by air
There are daily inland flights from Vancouver and Calgary to Castlegar.
